Who is the notary public?<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n

A notary public is an attorney who has obtained a certain certification from the Ministry of Justice<\/a>. He is thus authorized to perform a number of actions that a regular attorney, without notarial certification, is not allowed to do. Among these, a notary public is authorized to verify a signature<\/a> on a document, testifying that the signer did so of his own free will; to certify the accuracy of a translated document<\/a>; to accept and approve various types of declarations and affidavits; and more. In certain cases, when someone is sending translated documents to a foreign country, or receiving documents from a foreign country to be presented in Israel, an apostille stamp<\/a> is also required.<\/p>\n
